Undoing the Harm

For example, Mercury is one of the most toxic substances on the periodic table, and yet is still the primary ingredient in so called "silver" fillings. When we remove this substance from teeth, we are required by law to trap the toxin so that none of it drains into the public water supply. Is that something you'd want in your mouth?

The root canal is another staple procedure of antiquated dentistry is the root canal. A root canal deliberately kills a tooth by removing the blood supply and nerve tissue. The result is a pain free tooth, which is of course only painless because it is now dead. Unfortunately, keeping a tooth is not as successful as it sounds when the tissue is no longer living.

All dead and decaying tissues play host to pathogenic microbes and lifeforms which further complicate and inhibit a person's health. The effects are now known to be contribute towards risks of heart disease, cancer, and other leading causes of death. Some dentists believe that it is possible to devise a way to disinfect these dead teeth so they do not become infected. However, there is no evidence yet that this type of disinfection is possible, and substantial evidence to suggest it is only a matter of time before the dead tissue plays host to infection.
